PLACES: RPM Bakehouse, Lincoln, Ontario
As the bakery and cafe of Restaurant Pearl Morissette and the bottle shop of Pearl Morissette Winery, RPM Bakehouse is a morning and midday staple in the Jordan Village area. They take their grains and their coffee very seriously, and both are sourced locally from within Ontario or Canada. Perhaps it’s no surprise that many will do a day trip from Toronto just to visit this place.
RPM Bakehouse is also an excellent leading indicator for what’s on the horizon in the growing Bench wine region. With over 50 wineries, The Bench actually has more vineyards than Niagara-on-the-Lake (its more well-known sibling). Those in the know will also tell you that the terroir is better over on this side.
RPM Bakehouse is open Thursdays to Mondays from 8am to 4pm, and closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
