DEVELOPMENT: Introducing Vineland
Today we are excited to announce our latest development project: a new residential & hospitality project in Vineland, Ontario. Located in the Town of Lincoln and in the broader Niagara Benchlands region (“The Bench”), Vineland is now over a year in the making. And it really started with two things — with our love of Niagara wines and with a relatively simple question: Why does one of the most celebrated wine regions in Canada not have a design-forward hotel? (The Bench consistently ranks ahead of Niagara-on-the-Lake in terms of top of wines.)
When faced with this question, there are usually two possible answers. The first is that the thing does not exist because there’s no market for it. The demand isn’t there. And the second is that it doesn’t exist simply because nobody has done it yet. We believe that, in the case of The Bench, it is the latter. And so with Vineland, we have made it our mission to leverage art, culture, food & wine to create a new design-focused mixed-use residential & hospitality anchor in The Bench wine region.
To do that, we are proposing to introduce the mix of uses that you see above: waterfront residential, a design-forward lifestyle hotel, new waterfront public spaces, health & wellness facilities, a destination restaurant, and event space(s), among other things. We are still early on in the process, though, and later this month we’ll be presenting this vision to the local community for the first time and gathering feedback. Following that, we’ll be submitting our development applications.
We’re excited to be getting to work. If you’d like to collaborate on this project in some way, drop us a line here.
